As a former VCUarts Qatar student, you are automatically a member of a unique, international network of creative individuals from over 33 nationalities with a broad range of design disciplines - the VCUarts Qatar Alumni Network.

Our Alumni can enjoy a range of benefits and services which are managed and delivered through our Alumni Relations Office.  This dedicated office encourages alumni to share news, achievements and to create close links between the VCUarts Qatar and former students.

  • Shaikha Al-Sulaiti

    Interior Design Manager, Msheireb Properties
    Class of 2009

    Shaikha Al-Sulaiti is an interior design manager at Msheireb Properties where she has been skillfully gaining experience in the hospitality field. She is currently managing the hotels in the Msheireb Downtown development, where she has been working for over eight years, since her graduation from VCUarts Qatar in 2009.

    Design Director, AEA Designs

    Esra Al-Kazem is the Design Director and Co-founder of AEA Designs. Her academic background includes an MFA in Design studies, a BFA in Interior Design, and a BFA in Fashion Design. Esra is a designer and a researcher who believes in improving life through design.

    Interior Designers, Halcrow (CH2M Hill) & HOK Doha
    Class of 2011

    Local designers Mariam Siraj and Yasmine Suleiman are helping create some of Doha’s major commercial projects. When it came down to making the choice of which university to attend, Mariam and Yasmeen knew that VCU was the choice for them.

    The couture bug has bitten the country. These past few years, Doha has seen a dramatic transformation of the fashion industry, with designer labels making a conspicuous and visible impact on the landscape. In this highly competitive milieu, VCUarts Qatar alumna Selina Farooqui is weaving her own success story.

  • Reham Mohamed Aleid

    Project Manager Architect, Q.Media
    Class of 2007

    VCU alumna Reham Mohamed Aleid is a path-breaker. The Saudi student came to Qatar in 2003 to study interior design at VCUQatar. In 2004, she was one of the first students to join the exchange program to study at the home campus in Richmond, Virginia. Shortly thereafter she transferred permanently to VCU Richmond, becoming the first transfer student from VCUarts Qatar.

  • Latifa Al Mudahki

    Owner & General Manager, Fashion Designer, Moda Key
    Class of 2008

    On a busy street in central Doha lies a boutique showcasing design labels from Qatar and around the world. Launched in spring of 2011, the swish new outlet Moda Key in Freej Bin Mahmoud is what owner, general manager and VCUarts Qatar alumna Latifa Al Mudahki calls a fresh, chic venue for women.

  • Maryam Yousef Al-Homaid

    MFA Student, VCUarts Qatar
    Class of 2010

    Maryam Al-Homaid’s career as an artist began with her father, renowned Qatari artist Yousef Ahmed. She grew up surrounded by paintbrushes and colored markers and knew back then that she would be painting and drawing for the rest of her life.

  • Aisha Al Muftah

    Art Historian & Interior Designer, VCUarts Qatar
    Class of 2005

    Interior designer and art historian Aisha Al Muftah feels fortunate to be teaching at VCUarts Qatar, a job she cares deeply about. Having such a diverse educational background has set the course for all of her subsequent projects to be interdisciplinary, which the cultural environment in Qatar certainly encourages.

    Being one of only six male students at VCUarts Qatar, Ahmed El Sayed admits he did stand out, and being the only male student in the Fashion department when he began his studies in 2007, he did get spoilt a bit.

    Graphic Designer, Al Jazeera English
    Class of 2009

    In the midst of the Arab Spring and at a dynamic crossroads for current events in the region, VCUarts Qatar alumna Nada Al Saadi has found herself a place in the center of the story. Working in the Creative Department at Al Jazeera Arabic as a graphic designer, this native Qatari is one of the architects of change, helping the station to discover its new identity in this country, the region, and the world at large.

    When Hessa Al Muhannadi started working as a math and science teacher with the Ministry of Education’s elementary and secondary schools, little did she know that in 10 years she would be switching careers and designing the interiors for the Qatar Amiri Flight.
