Afternoon Dreams or “Ahlam Alasr” is a project that explores collective dreams by collecting them through online questionnaires from a diverse group of participants. It is titled after a local Arabic term for crazy surreal dreams that do not make sense. Using risograph printing, the dreams were transformed into different zines and posters. The designs within each zine or poster utilize color, typography, and imagery to capture the mood and atmosphere of the dreams. The project offers insight into the collective unconscious and its ability to connect people through universal themes. It aims to spark conversations about the significance of dreams and their potential to inform daily life, while showcasing the potential of graphic design and artificial intelligence to communicate complex ideas and emotions to a broad audience.
