“Beyond Labels” is a project aimed at going beyond our negative identity labels and paying attention to negative feelings and understanding their underlying causes. The thesis aims to focus on shedding light on our “vulnerable” aspects and hopes to provide the opportunity for tremendous psychological and spiritual growth. The majority of the project focuses on extensive research done on the concept of the shadow self, which refers to the collection of repressed aspects of ourselves. These repressed traits actually trigger emotions such as sadness, anger, fear and insecurity. The goal of the project is to raise awareness about how showing vulnerability can be a sign of resilience and to normalize sharing it.
